Basketball Recap: Catawba Ridge Copperheads vs. Clover Blue Eagles
Catawba Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 61-43 to the Clover Blue Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-39 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Catawba Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isaiah Thomas almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Thomas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kevin Butler, who posted seven points and eight boards.
Clover got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Parks out in front who went 6-for-14 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of J'Shon Watson, who went 6-for-14 en route to 14 points and five assists.
Catawba Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Clover, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
