The Culver Academies Eagles will face off against the Merrillville Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Thursday, Culver Academies was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-43 to Merrillville. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Pirates are ranked 259th).

Culver Academies' loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Merrillville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
