Soccer Game Preview: Narbonne vs. San Pedro

The Narbonne Gauchos will square off against the San Pedro Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Narbonne is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Narbonne's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Rancho Dominguez. Given the Gauchos' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Lobos are ranked 1195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Narbonne hit Rancho Dominguez with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Zen Matsumoto (2), Joshua Vera (2), and Len Matsumoto.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, San Pedro was not quite Carson's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Colts by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Pirates couldn't push the score so high this time.

Narbonne has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four contests. As for San Pedro, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
