Volleyball Recap: Wellington Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Mapleton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wellington, they should've done a better job of containing Alexandria Mills. The Dukes walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mounties on Monday thanks in part to Mills, who had 16 digs and five assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more digs the last four times she's played.

While Wellington might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Mapleton scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 16-25, 25-19.

The victory made it two in a row for Wellington and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Mapleton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Wellington will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Black River at 6:30 p.m. As for Mapleton, they will head out to challenge Crestview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
