Unioto picks up 16th straight win on the road

Recap: Unioto Shermans vs. Paint Valley Bearcats

In what's become a running theme this season, the Unioto Shermans gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by Paint Valley on the road to the tune of 79-28. The win was familiar territory for Unioto who now have 11 in a row.

It was another big night for Mya Hamilton, who scored 28 points along with six steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Milee Smith, who scored 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Paint Valley still got an impressive performance from Sophia Stauffer, who scored 11 points.

Unioto pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.13 points. As for Paint Valley, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unioto won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Westerville South at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th. Westerville South will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Paint Valley, they will be playing at home against Zane Trace at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Zane Trace has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 22.
