Softball Recap: Haddam-Killingworth Find Success

While Haddam-Killingworth's win against East Hampton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars skirted past the Bellringers 6-4. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Bellringers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Emma Giaccone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grace Natanzon was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Haddam-Killingworth's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for East Hampton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Haddam-Killingworth beat East Hampton by a score of 14-0 later that day.
