Baseball Recap: Century Comes Up Short

Century suffered their closest loss since April 17, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Covina Colts by a score of 8-6. The Centurions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

This is the second loss in a row for Century and nudges their season record down to 12-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Covina, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Century will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Peninsula at 7:00 p.m. The Centurions are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Covina, they will be taking part in a tournament against West at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Colts 3.5, the Warriors 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
