Basketball Game Preview: Arbor View Aggies vs. Rancho Verde Mustangs

Arbor View is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Rancho Verde is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Arbor View Aggies will take on the Rancho Verde Mustangs in a tournament on Wednesday. Arbor View knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Rancho Verde likes a good challenge.

If Arbor View beats Rancho Verde with 64 points on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Arbor View came out on top against Las Vegas by a score of 64-52 on Thursday. Given the Aggies' advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Wildcats are ranked 61st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rancho Verde). They blew past Valley View 94-44 on Monday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 23 points or more this season.

Arbor View's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Rancho Verde, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
