Softball Game Preview: Shikellamy Braves vs. Central Mountain Wildcats

Shikellamy hasn't had much luck against Central Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Braves will host the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Shikellamy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

On Tuesday, Shikellamy earned a 13-8 win over Selinsgrove.

Natalie Keller was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Oakes, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Shikellamy lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Selinsgrove didn't launched any home runs.

Meanwhile, Central Mountain waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with a 15-4 victory. The game marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season so far.

Central Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Shikellamy, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Shikellamy skirted past Central Mountain 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
