Volleyball Recap: Piper Heikkinen and Sophie Staroba Secure Win for Prentice

Prentice won the last time they faced Bruce and things went their way on Saturday too. The Buccaneers came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Prentice took both sets by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-10.

Prentice was led to victory by Sophie Staroba and Piper Heikkinen. Staroba had eight assists and five aces, while Heikkinen had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces Heikkinen has posted over her last six matches.

Prentice's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Bruce, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Prentice and Bruce will both be playing Mellen the next time they take the court. The Buccaneers will head out to face the Granite Diggers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Red Raiders will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
