Tamalpais and Archie Williams are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Red Tailed Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Peregrine Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Tamalpais' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Archie Williams' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tamalpais took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Mt. Diablo as they made off with a 19-0 victory. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Red Tailed Hawks this season.

Meanwhile, Archie Williams had just enough and edged out American Canyon 5-4 last Thursday.

Paige Murphy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Archie Williams saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lila James, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI James has posted since back in March. Kennedy Dunsing was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

James wasn't the only one making solid contact: Archie Williams kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American Canyon only managed six hits.

Tamalpais pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Archie Williams, their record now sits at 10-4.

Tamalpais came up short against Archie Williams in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 7-4. Can the Red Tailed Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
