Football Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Desert Edge + How To Watch

Desert Edge got themselves on the board against Cienega on Friday, but Cienega never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 26-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Scorpions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Bobcats are ranked 68th).

Corey Frazier was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 106 yards on only 11 carries.

Desert Edge's run defense was locked in: Cienega could only muster 0.6 yards per carry. While two picked up at least ten total tackles, Antonio Para stood above the rest. He picked up 1.5 sacks and made ten total tackles (4.5 for loss). Desert Edge's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.6.

Desert Edge's defense didn't let Julian Hainley., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. Para refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making ten total tackles (4.5 for loss).

Desert Edge's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.8 points over those games. As for Cienega, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Desert Edge has already played their next game, a 27-14 win against Notre Dame Prep on the 12th. As for Cienega, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-14 victory against Ironwood Ridge on the 12th.
