Volleyball Game Preview: Oxford Chargers vs. Lake Cormorant + How To Watch

Oxford is 2-8 against Lake Cormorant since August of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Cormorant at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Oxford's victory against Starkville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Yellowjackets 3-2 on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 6, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Oxford took Starkville into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Lake Cormorant made easy work of Center Hill on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

While Lake Cormorant won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21, 25-23.

Lake Cormorant has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for Oxford, their victory bumped their record up to 24-9.
