Basketball Recap: Max Lewandowski's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Arcadia/Loup City over Ansley/Litchfield

Arcadia/Loup City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ansley/Litchfield Spartans. The Rebels lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 50-23 score last time.

Arcadia/Loup City's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Lewandowski, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Brogan Setlik, who scored nine points and three steals.

Ansley/Litchfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Bailey, who went 6-for-13 en route to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Bailey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Schulte, who had ten points.

Arcadia/Loup City's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Ansley/Litchfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Arcadia/Loup City has already played their next game, a 46-40 defeat against Centura on the 14th. Ansley/Litchfield has also already played their next contest (against Anselmo-Merna), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
