The Bishop Brady Giants will take on the Trinity Pioneers at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Brady will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
On Monday, Bishop Brady beat Berlin 8-3.
Payton Bryson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Bishop Brady let Rowan Wood and Abby Tyrrell run wild. Wood went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Tyrrell went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Wood a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kimble Rose, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Trinity couldn't beat Raymond on Tuesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the first inning. The Pioneers fell just short of the Rams by a score of 9-8. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Emily Flynn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Trinity saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josie Cecchetti, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Bishop Brady's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Trinity, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bishop Brady hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .386. However, it's not like Trinity struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Bishop Brady's way against Trinity in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, as Bishop Brady made off with a 15-2 victory. Will the Giants repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
