Softball Recap: Westminster's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Westminster extended their postseason success on Wednesday against El Monte. They had just enough and edged out El Monte 9-7. Winning may never get old, but Westminster sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Chelsea Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Jocelyn Aguilar was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lily De La Riva, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Westminster's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-11. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for El Monte, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.

Westminster wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-4 defeat against Rancho Mirage on the 24th. El Monte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
