The Ledyard Colonels are taking a road trip to take on the Windham Whippets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ledyard's defense has only allowed 14.3 points per game this season, so Windham's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Ledyard will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Fitch, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Ledyard secured a 20-14 W over Fitch on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Colonels who have now won three games in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Anthony Adamick and Calvin Casavant. Adamick rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns while Casavant rushed for 36 yards. Adamick's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 145 rushing yards.

Ledyard wouldn't let Fitch keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Ledyard can thank Myles Streckfuss and Casavant for forcing both of them. Streckfuss also set a new season high mark in total tackles with 14.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Windham). They blew past Montville 52-32 on Tuesday. The Whippets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 20 points or more this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Troy Torres-Morey and Kevon Roberts. Torres-Morey rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries while Roberts rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Those 126 rushing yards gave Torres-Morey a new career-high.

The win (which was Windham's third in a row) raised their record to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points per game. As for Ledyard, their record is now 7-3.

Ledyard came up short against Windham in their previous matchup back in October, falling 13-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Windham's Francisco Alvarado, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 92 yards and a touchdown. Now that Ledyard knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
