Baseball Recap: Dimmitt Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Dimmitt barely beat Lockney the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dimmitt Bobcats came out on top against the Lockney Longhorns on Monday by a score of 13-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by eight runs or more this season.

Rudy Fuentes made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Fuentes was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Kaden Carpio was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Dimmitt's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Samuel Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Dimmitt has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.3 runs. This is the second loss in a row for Lockney and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Dimmitt will take on Ropes in a tournament on Friday. Lockney will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on New Deal at 5:00 p.m. on March 14th.
