Basketball Recap: Waggener Comes Up Short

Waggener has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Atherton Ravens. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 61-53 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Waggener's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Atherton, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Waggener will square off against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Atherton, they will take on W.E.B. DuBois Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
