Softball Recap: Tampa Bay Tech Has No Trouble Against Freedom

While Tampa Bay Tech didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Freedom Patriots on Thursday as the Tampa Bay Tech Titans made off with a 15-5 win. Considering the Titans have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Grace B made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaida T, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Taliyah H, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI.

Tampa Bay Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in four consecutive contests.

Tampa Bay Tech pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Freedom, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Tampa Bay Tech will face off against Leto at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Tampa Bay Tech's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Freedom, they will welcome Middleton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
