Basketball Game Preview: Friends' Central vs. Shipley

Friends' Central will head out to square off against Shipley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Friends' Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season.

Friends' Central took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They strolled past Abington Friends with points to spare, taking the game 68-51.

Friends' Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Pat Feamster, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Moore, who went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Friends' Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Shipley was beaten by George School 63-31 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Shipley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while George School is ranked 91st).

Shipley dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Friends' Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Friends' Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Shipley when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 73-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for Friends' Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
