Baseball Recap: Altamont Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

While Altamont's victory against Robinson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians skirted past the Maroons 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Maroons: they've now won three in a row.

Reed Stuemke looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Altamont's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cooper McManaway, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Brayden Schnarre was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Altamont's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Robinson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Altamont will challenge Johnston City at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Robinson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Maroons surely won't give up without a fight.
