Softball Recap: Union County Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Union County had won six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 13-5 to make it seven. They came out on top against the Chapman Panthers by a score of 6-1. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won eight in a row.

As for Chapman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

For Chapman's part, Alexis Floyd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits. Floyd has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chapman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paisleigh Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County will face off against Whitmire at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chapman, they will square off against Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
