Preview: Richard Montgomery Rockets vs. Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles
Richard Montgomery is 5-0 against Seneca Valley since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Richard Montgomery Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Richard Montgomery had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 56-31 margin over Kennedy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Richard Montgomery has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Seneca Valley made easy work of Einstein on Thursday and carried off a 55-34 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Seneca Valley.
Seneca Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brielle Watson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Watson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mina Hashemzadeh, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Richard Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Seneca Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Richard Montgomery barely slipped by Seneca Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, winning 38-37. Will Richard Montgomery repeat their success, or does Seneca Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
