Baseball Recap: Frontier Wins Going Away Against Waukomis

Waukomis typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Frontier proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Chiefs with a sharp 12-6 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Frontier got a massive performance out of Cole Williams, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in RBI (three). Lincoln Ingmire was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Williams wasn't the only one making solid contact: Frontier kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Frontier's record is now 5-10. As for Waukomis, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frontier will take on Glencoe at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Waukomis, they will challenge Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
