Basketball Game Preview: Bishop O'Connell Knights vs. Archbishop Carroll Lions

Bishop O'Connell has gone 8-2 against Archbishop Carroll recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bishop O'Connell Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Archbishop Carroll Lions at 7:30 p.m. Bishop O'Connell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.

Bishop O'Connell is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since January 20th on Sunday. They were the clear victor by a 70-47 margin over Our Lady of Good Counsel. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Virginia, while the Falcons are ranked 30th in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Shane Lincoln, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Darius Bivins was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Bishop O'Connell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Archbishop Carroll, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with an 80-70 win over Our Lady of Good Counsel on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Bishop O'Connell's record now sits at 20-8. As for Archbishop Carroll, their record now sits at 15-13.

Bishop O'Connell didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Archbishop Carroll in their previous meeting on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 62-56 win.
