Baseball Game Preview: Payton College Prep Grizzlies vs. Lincoln Park Lions

The Payton College Prep Grizzlies will venture away from home to face off against the Lincoln Park Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Payton College Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Payton College Prep managed to slip by Latin the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Grizzlies came up short against the Romans on Saturday, falling 10-0. The shutout was out of character for the Grizzlies seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Payton College Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Patton, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Park fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Lane Tech on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Champions by a score of 7-6. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lincoln Park now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Payton College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.
