Football Recap: Meridian Trojans vs. Lynden Christian Lyncs
Meridian extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 5-3. They had to suffer through a 48-7 loss at the hands of the Lynden Christian Lyncs. The Trojans lost against the Lyncs in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 30-29 score last time.
Trey Alexander threw for 238 yards on 19 of 44 attempts. Daniel Larsen was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards.
As for Lynden Christian, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Considering they have won six games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lynden Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Boyce Robertson, who picked up 88 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Robertson is crushing it when it comes to receiving touchdowns: he's hauled in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Lynden Christian also got a significant boost from Chris Kooiman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
