Softball Game Preview: Jefferson Cavaliers vs. O'Gorman Knights

The Jefferson Cavaliers will take on the O'Gorman Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Jefferson didn't have quite enough to beat Brandon Valley and fell 8-7. The loss was the Cavaliers' first of the season.

Macy Bryant made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Ayleah Johnson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, O'Gorman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 24-20 to Lincoln.

Sonia Deckert was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six runs, and two triples. Another player making a difference was Kinsley Sheridan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 5-for-6.

O'Gorman's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Jefferson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Jefferson took their win against O'Gorman in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-6 score. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
