Basketball Game Preview: St. John Woodchucks vs. Park River/Fordville-Lankin Aggies

The St. John Woodchucks will take on the Park River/Fordville-Lankin Aggies at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, St. John came up short against North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] and fell 66-57. While losing is never fun, the Woodchucks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Eagles are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Park River/Fordville-Lankin). They strolled past Cavalier with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 71-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aggies.

St. John dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Park River/Fordville-Lankin, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
