Football Game Preview: Frankfort Panthers vs. Holy Cross Indians

The Frankfort Panthers will head out to square off against the Holy Cross Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Frankfort, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Holy Cross' (thus far) undefeated season.

Frankfort is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They had to suffer through a 50-6 loss at the hands of Paintsville.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Holy Cross on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Eminence out of the water with a 51-6 final score. Considering the Indians have won four contests by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Frankfort better keep an eye on Brian Ferguson. He was instrumental in Holy Cross' win, rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 101 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Ferguson a new career-high in passer rating (153.3). Charles Oglesby got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Holy Cross was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 241 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Holy Cross' defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Garrett Frederick was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Oglesby got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Holy Cross' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Frankfort, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
