Softball Game Preview: Fremont Pathfinders vs. Harbor Teacher Monarchs

Fremont is 0-10 against Harbor Teacher since May of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Pathfinders will head out on the road to take on the Monarchs at 2:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Monday just wasn't the day for Fremont's offense. They lost 9-0 to King/Drew on Monday.

Meanwhile, Harbor Teacher entered their match against King/Drew on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Monarchs came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 8-2. Monarchs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Golden Eagles since on Thursday.

Lexi Cetina spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on 14 hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Briana Alagba was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Fremont now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Harbor Teacher, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Fremont suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Harbor Teacher in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Pathfinders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
