Football Recap: Thunderbird Titans vs. Deer Valley Skyhawks        
        
		
             After a string of three wins, Thunderbird's good fortune finally ran out  on Thursday. They took  a  17-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Deer Valley Skyhawks. While the Titans had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Skyhawks  7-3.
  Tori Wefel-Hayes was  her usual excellent self, rushing for 89 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 152 yards and a touchdown for Deer Valley. Those 89  rushing yards gave  Wefel-Hayes a new career-high. A healthy portion of that aerial production (88 yards to be exact)  went to  Sanaya GIbson.
 Thunderbird's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Deer Valley, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record  this season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thunderbird will host Alhambra  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Deer Valley, they have the luxury  of staying home for another  week and will welcome Goldwater at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Deer Valley is facing Goldwater at the right time seeing as Goldwater is stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
