Basketball Game Preview: Oswego East Wolves vs. Yorkville Foxes

The Oswego East Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Yorkville Foxes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Oswego East was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 61-57 to Bolingbrook. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Raiders are ranked 112th).

Meanwhile, Yorkville was able to grind out a solid victory over Oswego on Tuesday, taking the game 62-52. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Foxes.

Oswego East has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Yorkville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Oswego East didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Yorkville when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 57-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oswego East since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
