Baseball Recap: Kiel Gets the Win

Kiel had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Winneconne Wolves 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Cade Voelker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Voelker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Stephany, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Kiel's record is now 17-4. As for Winneconne, they dropped their record down to 11-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Kiel nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
