Basketball Recap: Grace Macarthur's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Woods Cross over Spanish Fork

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Woods Cross can now relate to. They fell just short of the Spanish Fork Dons by a score of 48-46 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 45-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2015.

Woods Cross lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Grace MacArthur, who went 6-for-15 en route to 15 points and three steals. Adia Cook was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Woods Cross smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Woods Cross and nudges their season record down to 14-10. As for Spanish Fork, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-20.

Woods Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spanish Fork, they will take on Clearfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
