Basketball Game Preview: Quartz Hill Royals vs. Glendora Tartans

Having just played yesterday, the Quartz Hill Royals will jump right back in to play the Glendora Tartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Quartz Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Glendora likes a good challenge.

Quartz Hill's tournament run continued when they took on Wilson on Friday. The Royals were the clear victors by a 66-42 margin over the Wildcats.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Quartz Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ty'Jahwuan Jackson, who dropped a triple-double with 19 boards, 11 assists, and ten steals. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in each of the last 33 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Julian Henriquez, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards.

Quartz Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Glendora was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 55-51 to King.

Glendora's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Quartz Hill, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
