Soccer Game Preview: Hazleton Area vs. Greater Nanticoke Area

The Hazleton Area Cougars will challenge the Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hazleton Area will be strutting in after a win while Greater Nanticoke Area will be coming in after a defeat.

Hazleton Area took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Dallas by a score of 3-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given Hazleton Area's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Dallas are ranked 133rd).

Meanwhile, Greater Nanticoke Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Benton.

Hazleton Area's win bumped their record up to 3-8-2. As for Greater Nanticoke Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15-2.

Hazleton Area came out on top in a nail-biter against Greater Nanticoke Area in their previous meeting back in September, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
