Basketball Recap: Warren's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Warren waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Buna Cougars by a score of 57-47. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 70-43 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Loss or not, Buna got some senior leadership from Madisyn Cotten and Kamryn Jurik. Cotten posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks, while Jurik had 12 points. Cotten is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Warren is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Buna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren will head out to square off against Kountze at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buna, they are taking a road trip to take on East Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
