Softball Recap: Pontotoc Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Pontotoc's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against Corinth by a score of 11-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Pontotoc considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Erynn Boddie was a standout: she scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Collums, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Pontotoc has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. Corinth's loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pontotoc will take on Itawamba Agricultural at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Corinth, they will head out on the road to challenge Kossuth at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kossuth will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
