Piedmont came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Give Piedmont's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Piedmont pushed their record up to 9-3-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six contests. As for Forest Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
