After a string of four wins, Granite Bay's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Jesuit Marauders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.
While Granite Bay ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-18.
Jesuit was led to victory by Naryan Banerjee and Nicolas Hill-Gaston. Banerjee had 11 digs and five assists, while Hill-Gaston hit 77.8% for 14 kills and eight digs and three aces. Those 77.8% hitting percentage gave Hill-Gaston a new career-high.
Granite Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Jesuit, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-10.
