Basketball Recap: Sophie Chard Peloquin and Natalie Harrington Secure Win for Newark Catholic

Newark Catholic won the last time they faced Heath and things went their way on Friday too. The Newark Catholic Green Wave blew past the Heath Bulldogs 46-25. The Green Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Newark Catholic to victory were Natalie Harrington and Sophie Chard Peloquin. Harrington went 7 of 12 on her way to 19 points, while Chard Peloquin posted ten points and five steals. What's more, Harrington also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leah Caudill, who put up eight points.

Newark Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.3 points. As for Heath, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Newark Catholic will welcome Utica at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Heath, they will host Amanda-Clearcreek at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
