It was a good run, but Providence Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their 15-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 76-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the LIONS came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Wildcats are ranked 62nd).

Providence Christian Academy's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 16-2. As for Battle Ground Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Providence Christian Academy LIONS take on the Franklin Road Academy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Providence Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 games -- so hopefully Franklin Road Academy likes a good challenge. As for Battle Ground Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Grace Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Battle Ground Academy is facing Grace Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Grace Christian Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
