Football Game Preview: St. Mary Cardinals vs. Sioux Falls Lutheran

The St. Mary Cardinals will face off against Sioux Falls Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

St. Mary is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Alcester-Hudson, who was ranked 11th at the time (St. Mary was ranked fourth). The Cardinals took down the Cubs 34-20 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Sioux Falls Lutheran made easy work of Gayville-Volin last Friday and carried off a 36-14 victory. Sioux Falls Lutheran might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

Sioux Falls Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for St. Mary, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Everything came up roses for St. Mary against Sioux Falls Lutheran in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 46-8 win. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do Sioux Falls Lutheran have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
