Volleyball Recap: Wisconsin Heights Comes Up Short

Wisconsin Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Waterloo Pirates. The Vanguards were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Wisconsin Heights was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Waterloo work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 26-24, 25-14.

Sonja Severson paced Wisconsin Heights' offense, picking up nine kills. Severson got some help from Amelia Blicharz and her 12 assists.

Wisconsin Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Waterloo, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Wisconsin Heights wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Wonewoc-Center on the 6th. As for Waterloo, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cambridge at 7:00 p.m. The Bluejays will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
