Basketball Preview: Monroe County Tigers vs. Thomasville Tigers
Monroe County and the Tigers are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Monroe County Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thomasville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe County will be strutting in after a victory while the Tigers will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Shields scored an imposing 62 points on Thursday, Monroe County still came out on top. Monroe County managed a 68-62 win over the Panthers. That's two games straight that Monroe County has won by exactly six points.
Meanwhile, Thomasville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 55-50 to the Panthers.
Monroe County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. As for Thomasville, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
Monroe County strolled past the Tigers in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 58-43. Does Monroe County have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
