Westbrook is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will welcome the Rotan Yellowhammers at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Westbrook put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against O'Donnell as they made off with a 16-6 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Jaxson Browne spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Rotan was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 17-13 to Northside.
Elijah Norton was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Garcia, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
The win got Westbrook back to even at 4-4. As for Rotan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything went Westbrook's way against Rotan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Westbrook made off with an 11-0 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowhammers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
