Basketball Recap: FAU High Comes Up Short

FAU High was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 34-21 to the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Owls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-21 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, FAU High still got an impressive performance from Katalin Jenkins, who posted two points in addition to nine boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Jenkins a new career-high in blocks (two). Ellen Vance was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.

Liana Kozko was her usual excellent self, earning 25 points for Don Soffer Aventura. That makes it five consecutive games in which Kozko has scored at least a third of Don Soffer Aventura's points.

FAU High's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Don Soffer Aventura, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

FAU High has already played their next contest, a 48-13 loss against Lake Worth on the 27th. As for Don Soffer Aventura, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-10 defeat against Immaculata-La Salle on the 28th.
