Recap: Northside Patriots vs. Hardaway Hawks
The Northside Patriots were the 49-43 winner over the Hardaway Hawks when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Northside was outmatched by Hardaway on the road and fell 69-31. Northside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-21.
When it comes to explaining why Northside lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Barrington Adams. Despite the final result, he scored ten points. The contest was Adams' eighth in a row with at least ten points.
Hardaway got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zaire Hodge out in front who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Dortch, who scored 12 points.
Northside bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hardaway, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Northside and Northgate will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northgate presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northside in Georgia (Northgate is ranked 151st, while Northside is ranked 454th). As for Hardaway, they will be playing at home against Westover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
